Afghanistan

NATO is meeting with President Obama in Chicago and the issue of Afghanistan is the main topic of discussion. Here are some hard cold facts: The Afghan National Army and National Police Force is unable to function in the field independentally - without US or NATO troops. I don't give a damn!
Step up or cut a deal with the Taliban (which half the fuckers probally have sympathies with). The Generals are demanding more time for success in the field. Obama said, "I am not going to give them more time" and is pulling the Marines ot of Helmand province, once a Taliban stronghold. Obama wants all US combat operations to cease by Summer 2013 and at that time the US will revert to a support role - I would think that means artillery and Tac Air.
Once the decision is made on what small Tac Air aircraft to provide Afghanistan (Super Tucano vs
Beech Hawker AT-6) - then the Afghans can provide close air support for their troops...

The bottom line is: We have to disengage and let happen what will happen over there...
